About Us

The Barbeque Shop began with a love for outdoor cooking and a dream of sunshine.

Founder Wayne Warner had already built three successful barbecue stores in the UK before discovering Spain’s Costa Blanca. Inspired by the relaxed lifestyle, warm climate and vibrant culture, Wayne and his wife Charlotte knew it was the perfect place to share their passion for grilling.

In 2008, with their two children, two dogs and a cat, the family moved to Spain and opened the country’s first dedicated barbecue shop in Calpe. Just five years later, the store expanded into a larger space where it continues to welcome customers today.

Since then, The Barbeque Shop has grown into one of Europe’s leading barbecue retailers, offering premium barbecues, pizza ovens, smokers and outdoor living accessories from four locations across the Costa Blanca:

  Calpe – The original store and the heart of the brand.

  Javea – Opened 13 years later with more than 400 m² of retail space.

  Torrevieja – One of the largest barbecue shops in Europe with over 1,000 m² dedicated to outdoor cooking.

  La Nucia – Opened in 2025 to bring barbecue inspiration to even more homes.
