BBQ Fish Tacos with Fresh Mango Salsa

There’s nothing that says summer quite like fresh fish tacos cooked on the barbecue. Light, smoky and packed with vibrant flavours, this recipe combines perfectly grilled white fish with a refreshing homemade mango salsa for an easy meal that's ideal for warm evenings outdoors.

Whether you're cooking for family or entertaining friends, these tacos are guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients

For the fish

  • 4 white fish fillets (cod, haddock or mahi-mahi)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Juice of 1 lime

Fresh Mango Salsa

  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • ½ red onion, finely diced
  • 1 small red chilli, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt to taste

To Serve

  • Small corn tortillas
  • Shredded red cabbage
  • Sliced avocado
  • Lime wedges
  • Fresh coriander

Step 1: Prepare the Mango Salsa

Combine the diced mango, red onion, chilli, coriander and lime juice in a bowl. Season lightly with salt and allow it to sit for around 15 minutes so the flavours can develop.

Step 2: Season the Fish

Mix together the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, pepper and lime juice. Coat the fish evenly and leave to marinate for 15–20 minutes.

Step 3: Fire Up Your Broil King

Preheat your Broil King barbecue to medium-high heat (around 200–220°C).

The Flav-R-Wave™ cooking system helps deliver even heat while adding that unmistakable barbecue flavour without drying out delicate fish.

Lightly oil the cooking grids before placing the fillets on the barbecue.

Step 4: Grill the Fish

Cook the fish for approximately 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness.

The fish should be lightly charred on the outside while remaining moist and flaky inside. Avoid turning it more than once to help it hold together.

Step 5: Warm the Tortillas

Place the tortillas directly onto the grill for around 20–30 seconds per side until warm and lightly toasted.

Step 6: Assemble Your Tacos

Fill each tortilla with:

  • Shredded red cabbage
  • Grilled fish
  • Fresh mango salsa
  • Sliced avocado
  • Fresh coriander

Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime.

Serving Suggestion

Pair these tacos with grilled sweetcorn, tortilla chips and a chilled drink for the perfect summer barbecue feast.

Fresh, colourful and incredibly easy to prepare, they're proof that barbecue cooking goes far beyond burgers and sausages.

Fire up your Broil King and bring fresh summer flavours to your table. 🔥🌮
